International Logistics

We deliver goods from and to anywhere in the world by sea, air, rail or truck. We also combine these to give a multi-modal solution when required.

Our award winning IT systems are specifically designed in house to give us complete control over how we move your goods from point-of-origin to final destination and every step in between. We have real time control  every step of the way and have portals for our customers, their customers and suppliers to see what is planned and what has happened in real time night or day.

We give you the tools to plan, track and forecast your product’s journey, giving you the information to help you make more informed decisions at every point throughout your products journey.

Our long term overseas partnerships together with our own in country offices means we always know what’s happening in foreign markets and ensure that our customers benefit from this "inside track".

The range of goods and cargo we handle is very broad. Our customers come from a wide range of industries including:

  • Automotive
  • Furniture
  • Garments & Footwear
  • Bathrooms
  • Kitchens
  • Food & Drink
  • Electrical
  • Household
  • Textiles and Bedding
  • Industrial Lighting
  • Cosmetics
  • General Merchandise

We have spent a number of years developing successful mutual partnerships with China Arts and Sinotrans, two of China’s largest logistics operators. These close relationships enable substantial access to Chinese supply chains, as well as a simpler and more effective distribution of European goods to Asia for our customers.

We also have a Chinese office, based in Dongguan. This opened last year to enable Advanced Supply Chain to provide on the ground support to our logistics partners and Chinese customers. Our team offer technical know-how and training on our systems, as well as an immediate point of contact in their time zone.

In recent years the procedures around cargo transportation have tightened, which has impacted importing and exporting around the world considerably.

The “Authorised Economic Operator” Accreditation (AEO)

It is highly recommended by UK HMRC that any business involved in the international trade supply chain and conducts customs related undertakings within the EU, hold the AEO accreditation.

Advanced Forwarding Limited (AFL) is proud to say that we hold the accreditation as a symbol of how seriously we take security.

An amendment to the Community Customs Code (CCC) has seen introduction of measures to safe-guard the movement of global cargo and an extra accreditation has been introduced to help cargo move through European customs securely efficiently and quickly.

The “Authorised Economic Operator” Accreditation (AEO), initiated through the EU’s Customs security Program (CSP), has introduced much tighter security controls and measures of compliance, with HMRC set procedures, to ensure the international trade and supply chain was more forceful and   security focused.

This accreditation benefits both AFL and our customers in numerous ways:

Proven compliance with Customs Procedures and security requirements

  • Cargo cleared through the customs process much more quickly.
  • Minimised turnout of consignments
  • Keeps the paperwork through customs simple with less hold ups
  • Cargo is part of a much more secure supply chain
  • Part of the Mutual Recognition between the USA and the UK.
  • Trusted partnerships with our suppliers
  • The Advanced Forwarding’s customs department has a clear understanding and strong proven record of working closely with the UK customs for the benefit of its customers.

AFL will continue to work positively and closely with HMRC on any changes they may introduce to the AEO accreditation criteria.
