A postcard from Atlanta

With a truly international reach and bases across continents, our team can often be found globetrotting.  Our IT director, Will Robinson and senior analyst programmer, Daniel Sills, recently added some more stamps to their passports as they visited Atlanta. We’ll be making an announcement in the coming weeks to share full details of what their trip entailed.

In the meantime, here’s Will’s postcard…

Date of visitNovember 2018
Reason for visitWe’ve been working on a new and exciting client project - all will be revealed very soon…
First visit?I visited for the first time few weeks ago in preparation for this trip’s activities.
Favourite place to eatThere’s too many to choose from! Chick-fil-A is a good option, and there's one on every street corner. I’d describe them as a better version of KFC. There's a Waffle House on almost every street too! Think of a little chef, but with tasty food! I was also lucky enough to experience a proper family Thanksgiving - so it's safe to say I've definitely immersed myself in the food out here!
Thing to doThere’s a driving range style game called TopGolf. The idea is to hit the golf ball at targets and an automated system keeps score. It’s a little bit like ten-pin bowling but with golf clubs!
Tipple of choiceThe city seems to have embraced real ale on a huge scale. There's a local brewery called Sweetwater and they do a beer called 420. It’s very good and available all over the city (and even on the Delta transatlantic flight!).
SoundtrackI haven't really had much music on out here, but Ed Sheeran brought the whole city to its knees the other night when he played on the same night as the basketball game - the traffic was gridlock!
Book, magazine or podcast?I’ve been re-reading Robin Hobb – Fool’s Quest while out here. I’d highly recommend any of Robin Hobb’s Fitz & Fool books – they’re definitely page turners.
Must-have gadget or appUber has been a real lifeline getting around out here. SnapChat has also been really useful – both for showing the city off to friends in the UK and for communicating without needing to text international numbers.

Taking your brand online - is now the time to look towards a platform or marketplace?
